Yom Hazikoron and Yom Haatzmaut

Tiferet students had a very special week, celebrating the National Holidays in an extremely meaningful manner.

On Friday April 29th, our students went on a tour of Har Herzl, the central military cemetery in Yerushalayim. There we heard stories about important figures in Israeli history, such as Chana Senesh, Yoni Netanyahu, Roi Klein and so many more. In this way, our students were educated and prepared for the week to follow.

On Tuesday MAy 3rd, we were privileged to hear from Mrs. Miriam Fuld, wife of Ari Fuld, äé"ã, who was murdered by a terrorist in 2018. We heard about his dedication to Eretz Yisrael, Medinat Yisrael and Am Yisrael, and our students were inspired by those values.

On Leil Yom Hazikaron, we joined thousands of other students in a ceremony in memory of the kedoshim who died for the sake of our country. Gathering together with so many others made this an even more meaningful event. The next day, we returned to Har Herzl where we spent time with the families and friends of the kedoshim.

On Leil Yom Haatzmaut, we davened a joyous Tefilla Chagigit in honor of this special day at one of the local shuls. We returned to Tiferet for a seuda chagigit, filled with divrei Torah, music and inspiration. Finally, we joined the whole Ramat Beit Shemesh community at the local concert and carnival in honor of Yom Haatzmaut. The next morning, after another rousing tefilla, our students traveled to Latrun to hear about iconic battle there in 1948. We then went to Gush Etzion for a picnic, followed by a visit to the museum in Kfar Etzion, to learn about their struggles and battles during the War of Independence.

We are so proud that our students were able to participate so fully in these important Zionist days.
