The Chesed program at Tiferet lets you translate your Torah knowledge into action. There is a large variety of Chesed opportunities to choose from in Beit Shemesh, Yerushalayim and beyond. Every Wednesday afternoon, our students volunteer and give back to Israel - from packing food for needy families, to aiding victims of terror, to helping special needs children, to participating in big sister programs and taking care of the elderly.
However, Chesed at Tiferet involves not just regularly planned activities, but also frequent visits to hospitals, retirement homes, orphanages and other places that need our help. In addition, we run a carnival for the children of Gush Katif, plant gardens for an orphanage, host the Darkeinu students for a Shabbaton, provide poor families of Yerushalayim with food with Yad Eliezer, host engagement parties for young brides from Gush Katif and much much more.
Since we are part of a community, we are privileged to be able to assist people and organizations of Ramat Bet Shemesh whenever they need our help. Whether it's helping a mother with her children while she endures chemotherapy, or help a Lmaan Achai food drive or help display clothing in the local clothing Gmach, Tiferet students are always eager to help out.
Because we place such a strong emphasis on Derech Eretz, mitzvot bein adam l'chaveiro, and Midot improvement, chesed at Tiferet is more than just part of our program; it becomes a fundamental part of everyone's lives.
